The creator stack collects more than the channel does
YouTube itself is the data controller for viewing data on its platform, so you are not responsible for what Google collects when someone watches a video. Your obligations start everywhere else: the website you link in the description, the newsletter, the merch store, the membership tier, the giveaway form and the Discord. Each of those is yours, and together they are why a video creator needs a policy at all.
- Newsletter subscribers (email, open and click tracking, signup source)
- Merch orders through Fourthwall, Spring, Shopify or Printful — names, addresses, order history
- Memberships and tips via Patreon, Ko-fi, Buy Me a Coffee, or channel memberships
- Giveaway and casting-call entries, which often include age and location
- Sponsor tracking links and affiliate cookies
- Analytics on your own site, plus any ad or retargeting pixels
