Google AdSense requires every publisher to display a privacy policy with specific disclosures about cookies, the DoubleClick DART cookie, and third-party advertisers.

What's included

  • DART cookie disclosure
  • Third-party advertiser language
  • Personalized ads opt-out (NAI/DAA)
  • CCPA & GDPR cookie consent
  • User location-based ads
  • Children's content (Family Link)

Why you need this

  • Required by Google AdSense ToS
  • Required for ad serving in EEA
  • Reduces AdSense suspension risk
  • Improves ad eligibility

What AdSense publishers must disclose

Google's publisher policies require you to tell visitors that third parties may place and read cookies on their browsers, or use web beacons, to serve ads based on prior visits. In the EEA, UK and Switzerland the EU user consent policy also requires consent for personalised ads and for the cookies that support them, obtained through a compliant consent tool.

  • That third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads
  • How visitors can opt out of personalised advertising in Google Ads Settings
  • Industry opt-outs such as aboutads.info and youronlinechoices.eu
  • Your consent mechanism for EEA/UK visitors and how to change a choice

Practical setup for publishers

Use a consent management platform that serves non-personalised ads until consent is given, keep the policy reachable from every page, and — if you also fall under the CCPA — provide a working opt-out link because ad personalisation counts as 'sharing'. Our own policy page shows how these disclosures read in practice.
